Abstract

Ureaplasma Vaginitis is a group of Bacteria which is commonly found in the urinary and genital tracts of human beings. Once Bacteria enter the body it increases in number and causes various immune responses in the body. It is a single-celled organism which releases toxins in the body. There are millions of bacteria which live inside the skin and body, and try to invade the body. There are various bacterial infections such as Gastroenteritis, Sinus infection, sexually transmitted infections (STI) and Urinary Tract infections. Bacteria have rigid walls, a thin rubbery membrane which is surrounded by fluid inside the cell and can reproduce on its own. Introduction

Ureaplasma belongs to the class of bacteria Mycoplasma, which is the smallest known organism which copies itself to reproduce. It can be sexually transmitted by unprotected oral and vaginal sex which produces urethritis and epididymitis in men and Bacterial vaginosis, Cervicitis and infertility in females. Ureaplasma was discovered in 1954 and is present in the mouth and genitals. Ureaplasma does not have a cell wall which makes it a unique bacteria, it can be spread sexually and among women who have multiple sexual partners. It is strongly associated with Bacterial Vaginosis which is a vaginal infection that grows in the vaginal area and overgrows due to bacterial imbalance. It leads to off-white and grey vaginal discharge which smells like a fish. 80% of healthy women have ureaplasma in their cervical and vaginal secretions. It is commonly linked with Bacterial vaginosis and complications in pregnancy. Can easily pass to babies as it can pass from mother to baby during pregnancy.
