In this article, we are going to discuss Testicular microlithiasis, its symptoms, causes, and some herbal medications for its management.

Testes are the pair of two oval-shaped organs that are covered by a skin called the scrotum. Testes are responsible for the storage and production of sperm. It is the main part of the male reproductive system. Testicular microlithiasis is the collection of a small clump of calcium in the testicles. It is an uncommon and non-progressive condition. These are uniform, tiny, numerous calcium clusters in one or both testes. This disease is usually found during the scanning (USG) of testes.  It is an asymptomatic, impalpable, and painless disease.

In most of the cases, Testicular microlithiasis is asymptomatic but in few causes, pain and inflammation in testes are also reported. It may be related to the cases of testicular tumors and male infertility.

In modern medicine, there is no specific cause, and treatment is known. But in Ayurveda, this testicular microlithiasis is associated with Shukrashmarij sharkara. According to Acharyas, urinary calculus (Ashmari) is formed in the testes (Vrishna) and penis (Medhra). According to Ayurveda, the suppression of the impulse of semen is the basic cause of testicular microlithiasis.
