One of the major functions is the production of bile and when the flow of bile from the liver is blocked to the other organs is known as cholestasis in this article we are going to know about the cholestasis, ayurvedic importance of liver and its treatment.
Cholestasis is a disorder in which bile flow is obstructed from the liver and to the duodenum and other organs. Bile is a digestive juice which is produced by the liver transported to the duodenum and stored in the gallbladder through a common bile duct. Bile is very essential as it helps in the digestion of fats; absorption of different substances, some substances get secreted with the help of bile. So if the flow of this bile juice gets blocked these functions will be hampered in the body.
liver is named a yakrit. In ayurveda also it is a very essential organ. It is connected to the raktvaha strotas (channels of blood) of the body which means it is made from the rakta dhatu (blood). It’s the main organ for the chayaphchaya (metabolism). Any obstruction in the rakta vaha srotas can lead to the obstruction of the bile.
