WHAT ARE KELOIDS?

Formation of scar or fibrous tissue over the injured area to protect and repair the injury occurs naturally but in some cases there occurs overgrowth of these tissues which appears to be hard and smooth growth. This is smooth and hard growth is known as Keloid. These growths can be much more in size than the actual injury. The most common areas for Keloids to be found are shoulders, chest, cheeks, and earlobes. Nonetheless, keloids can appear in any area of the body which has been injured.
