Moreover, Acharya Kashyapa’s description of the disease Charmadala also closely resembles Atopic dermatitis. That condition is characterized by twak raktavarna (reddish discoloration of skin), kandu (itching), charma avadarana (peeling of skin) and twak rookshata (dryness of skin) with pidaka (papule) formation.
