Bartholin gland cancer is a rare form of tumour of the vulva arising in the Bartholin gland. It is more common in females of middle and old age. Symptoms occur late after the growth of the tumour. It is present deep inside the vulva. It is characterised by the presence of a painless mass inside the vaginal opening. Dyspareunia (Pain during sex), and mass in the vulva are some of the symptoms seen in Bartholin gland cancer. If not treated in time, the tumour can spread to other parts of the body like inguinal lymph nodes and ischiorectal fossa. It is very important to diagnose Bartholin cancer properly because it can be misdiagnosed as a cyst or abscess of the Bartholin gland.

Ayurvedic Overview

According to Acharya Shushruta, aggravated doshas (Vata, Pitta and Kapha) reach the yoni (Female genitalia) and get localised in the rakta (Blood) and mamsa (Muscle) of the yoni producing a muscular sprout, which is usually painless. It shows gradual growth. One of the common manifestations is pain during intercourse. If neglected and not treated properly it can spread to nearby tissues.

Product Description

1. Curcumin Capsules

Curcumin capsules are a herbal formulation that contains an extract of  Haridra (Curcuma longa) that is curcumin. Curcumin is a polyphenol that has anti-carcinogenic properties. It inhibits the proliferation of cancer cells and causes apoptosis (cell death) of cancer cells. It also stops the invasion of tumours to nearby tissues by blocking cellular signalling pathways. It also helps in managing dyspareunia associated with BGC.

Dosage: 1-2 Capsules twice daily, with plain water, after meals.

2. Ashwagandha Capsules

Ashwagandha capsules are an ayurvedic formulation that contains Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera). Ashwagandha has shown good results in managing inflammation and cancerous growths. It balances Vata and Kapha doshas. It is found that ashwagandha can suppress the activity of cancer cells. Kanchanaar guggul is a polyherbal formulation that contains Kachnar Bark (Bauhinia variegata), Amalaki (Emblica officinalis), Haritaki (Terminalia chebula), Bibhitaki (Terminalia bellerica), Trikatu (Ginger+Black pepper+Pippali), Guggul (Commiphora mukul) and various other herbs. 5. Mahamanjishthadi kwath

Mahamanjishthadi kwath is a herbal formulation that contains Manjistha (Rubia cordifolia), Nagarmotha (Cyperus rotundus), Kuda (Holarrhena antidysenterica), Giloy (Tinospora cordifolia), Neem (Azadirachta indica), Haldi (Curcuma longa) and various other herbs. Manjishtha helps in balancing Pitta and Kapha dosha. Herbs present in Mahamanjishthadi kwath are rich in antioxidants.
