Earwax is produced inside your ears which helps to keep them clean and free of germs infection. It also helps to reduce the irritation which is caused when water enters the ear canal. The medical term used for an earwax blockage is a cerumen impaction. People can usually treat this situation at home using simple household products. Earwax is the natural product produced by the gland present in the ear canal. It has lubricating and antibacterial properties so it protects the ears from bacteria and other infection. The ear wax form protective covering on the skin in the ear canal. Sometimes it can cause a feeling of fullness and dulled hearing and you feel uncomfortable. Under such conditions, you may need to remove earwax. Earwax is a build-up of dead cells, foreign material such as dust, and cerumen. You should take great caution when trying to remove earwax buildup at home.  Normally the wax removal treatments are quick, painless and it helps to restore your hearing. Excessive earwax may also occur due to a narrowing of the ear canal which results in some kinds of infection and disease of the skin and connective tissues.

The excessive ear wax can be build up due to less or more production of cerumen fluid. The main reason behind it is some trauma or blockage within the ear canal. Some deficiencies such as deficiency of omega-3 fatty acid, magnesium, and zinc also one of the reasons for excessive wax production. It is good for your ear protection but the problem can take place when there are blockage and impaction of earwax. Sometimes peoples use Q-tips, bobby pins and other sharp objects to remove it from their ear but this may ultimately push the wax deeper inside your ear. In such conditions, peoples are more prone to hearing disorders, earwax blockage, and feeling of fullness.

Home Remedies to Remove Earwax

1. Saltwater

Saltwater

This is one of the best methods to remove the excess wax from your ear. It softens the wax accumulates inside your ear and making it easy to remove from ear.   For this firstly mix one teaspoon of salt in half cup of warm water and dissolve the salt completely. Soak a cotton ball in this solution, tilt your ear towards the sky and squeeze the cotton ball and put this saline water into your ear. Leave it for 5 mints and stay in the same position. After 5 minutes tilt your head in opposite side and drain out the saline water. Clean the softened wax with a cotton cloth.

2. Olive Oil

This is another method to remove the excessive ear wax. Olive oil has very good skin benefits. It also softens the earwax and making it easier to come out from the ear. The antiseptic property of olive oil helps to protect your ear from an ear infection. Take some olive oil and warm it, with the help of dropper you can put 3-4 drops of warm olive oil into the affected ear. Leave it for 10 mints this will helps to soften the earwax. After 10 minutes tilt your head and remove the excesses oil, use of soft cotton cloth remove the softened wax.

3. Baby Oil

Baby oil also helps to facilitate the removal of earwax. For this, you should warm one tablespoon of baby oil. Tilt your head so that the affected ear exposed upper side. Add 3-4 drops of warm baby oil into your ear. Keep your head in the same position for at least 5-10 mints after that tilt in opposite side and drain the leftover baby oil. Now with the help of cotton cloth remove the soften earwax. Instead of baby oil, mineral oil is another option for removing earwax.

4. Warm Water

This will also help to remove the excessive ear wax. For this you can be flushing your ear with warm water, this gentle force of water helps to drain out the lodge wax. But make sure that you can use clean and filter warm water.  First, you have to fill the rubber-bulb syringe with lukewarm water and put a small amount of warm water into the ear by tilting your head upright. Leave it for 1-2 minutes and then remove it by tilting your head in the opposite direction. Clean your ear with a cotton cloth and remove the earwax.

5. Vinegar

Vinegar helps to remove the earwax by dissolving it. Vinegar shows anti fungal and anti-bacterial effects which protects your ear from any kind of ear infection. Take some amount of vinegar in the bowel and dip a cotton ball to it. Then tilt your head towards the sky and squeeze 3-4 drops of vinegar into the ear. Stay in the same position for 3-5 minutes and after that tilt your head in another side so that vinegar is drained out from your ear. 6. Glycerin

It has very good benefits for your skin and it protects your skin from infection, acne by absorbing moisture from your skin. It is natural moisturizer and lubricant and it softens the hard earwax.  Using eyedropper put 2-3 drops of glycerin into the affected ear. Leave it for 5-10 minutes and after that tilt your head and remove the soften earwax with the help of earbud or cotton cloth.

7. Garlic Oil

Garlic has very high nutritional value and medicinal properties. It acts as an antioxidant, anti-fungal, antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory agent to protect your ear from any kind of fungal or bacterial infection. Take a 2-3 clove of garlic and crushed them. Take a pan, add 2-3 tablespoons of olive oil and crushed garlic to it. Heat the oil till cloves turn black in color. Then turn off the flame and rest it for 5 minutes to cool down. Then drain it, dip a cotton ball in it and put 3-4 drops of this solution into your ear. Leave it for 5 minutes and then remove the ear wax by tilting your head in another side.
