Irritable Bowel Syndrome is a common disorder that affects the large intestine. It affects between 6-18% of people worldwide.   • Alternatively, mix one cup of yogurt with a one-half tablespoon of psyllium husk.
  • Eat it one hour after your lunch and dinner.
  • Follow this remedy for few days until you get relief from IBS symptoms.

2. Ginger

Ginger is the best remedy for excessive gas and bloating during IBS. It contains a potent bio-active compound known as gingerol which is helpful in reducing the inflammation in the intestine, relax the intestinal muscles and make stomach lining strong.

  • Add one tablespoon of grated ginger in one cup of hot water.
  • Steep for 5-10 minutes, strain and add few drops of honey to it to enhance the taste.
  • Drink it 2-3 times a day to ease the abdominal pain and cramps.
  • Alternatively, you can also eat the mixture of grated ginger and honey before your lunch and dinner this will help to get rid of diarrhea as well as it will improve your digestive process.

3. Flaxseeds

Flaxseeds are a rich source of omega-3 fatty acid and dietary fibers which are required for the smooth and comprehensive passage of stool. Omega -3 fatty acids in flaxseeds enhance your immunity by providing support to the immune system.  It is helpful during both constipation and Diarrhoea problem.

  • Take one tablespoon of flaxseeds powder daily with plain water.
  • You can also mix one tablespoon of flaxseed powder to one cup of boiling water, steep it for 5-10 minutes and drink this decoction before going to bed.
  • This will help to keep your stomach clean and free from gas.

4. Fennel Seeds

Fennel seeds reduce all the symptoms which are commonly associated with IBS. It provides relief from bloating and intestinal spasm. It is a traditional remedy for digestive problems such as indigestion, heartburn, and stomachaches. Fennel seeds are rich in Vitamin C, vitamin B-6 and phytonutrients.

  • You can have dry fennel seeds powder with warm water twice daily.
  • Alternatively, you can add one tablespoon of fennel seeds powder into one cup of boiling water, steep it for 5-10 minutes, strain and drink this herbal tea two times a day.

5. Peppermint

It has antispasmodic properties which are very effective in reducing the symptoms of IBS such as bloating, constipation and cramping. The menthol in peppermint provides a relaxing effect on the intestinal smooth muscles. It also helps in easy passage of food from the stomach.

  • Add 2-3 drops of peppermint oil in a 1/4th cup of water. Drink it 2-times a day, until you get relief.
  • You can also add one teaspoon of dried peppermint powder in one cup of hot water, steep for 5-10 minutes and drink it 2-3 times a day.

6. Chamomile

The antispasmodic property, as well as tannins content of chamomile, can provide relief from symptoms of IBS such as diarrhea, abdominal spasm. It also reduces the inflammation in the stomach.

  • Add 2-3 teaspoon of dried chamomile flower in one cup of hot water.
  • Steep for 5-10 minutes and strain.
  • Add 2-3 drops of lemon juice to it.
  • Drink this natural tea 2 –times a day.
